YY Cables

YY Cables are multi-core PVC cables, used for wide range use applications. They are designed with purpose to interconnect with signal and control equipment in order to measure control or regulation. These YY Cables are often used in the construction and building industry, automation industry, as well as rail/transport networks and process control systems.

YY cables will continue to work effectively even when light mechanical stress is applied, and is suited to the majority of environments. The cable is very versatile and is able to be used outdoors when protection is applied.

YY Cables work very well with light mechanical stress, and are suited to most environmental conditions. When protected, it can be used in both dry and moist conditions. YY cables are constructed with a grey PVC outer sheath and flexible copper. YY cables are not recommended to be used if they are in an environment whereby they could be subject to repetitive twisting or flexing.

A couple of examples of quality YY Cables are the OLFLEX Classic 100 and the OLFLEX Classic 110.
OLFLEX Classic 100 colour coded range of YY Cables are used as control, signal and power cables in a wide range of applications including man chine tool engineering, plant installations, car production lines, bottling plants and other automated production facilities. It is a highly flexible cable that ensures easy installation. The external sheathing is extremely tough and able to withstand the effects of many acids, caustic solutions and various oils.

OLFLEX Classic 110 number coded range of YY Cables are similar to the colour coded range so are also ideally suited for use as control, signal and power cables and is used in similar applications.

Other names for YY Cables include: YY Control Cable, Unshielded Control Cable, Unscreened Cable and Flexible Cable.

Portable Power and Heavy Duty Trailing Cables

There is an increasing demand for reliable portable power that often comes in the form of large industrial generator sets. These generators are extremely useful and important for several industries and may be used as backup power for a new hospital, or for use on a construction site and are useful if there is no easy access form of alternative power, or vital during a power outage.

Each of these problems can prove extremely inconvenient if it affects the process of an important task or takes place at an important time. There are a large range of heavy duty products available on the local and international market, including heavy duty industrial cables, cable connectors and cable glands all of which are suited to many different environments due to the heavy duty nature of each product.

SY Cables

SY Cables are another type of interconnecting cables, the same as YY and CY cables. The cables are usually used as an interconnector cable for controlling, measuring and regulating control equipment for assembly lines and construction lines. They are also used for conveyor belt systems and computer unit operations. SY cables are suitable for both fixed and flexible installations that feature a degree of light mechanical stress.

These cables can also be used in either indoor or outdoor environments when protected and are very efficient when used in conditions ranging from dry to moist areas. The galvanized steel braid helps to ensure that this cable is extremely strong and the strongest cable of the three control cables. This cable offers reliable mechanical protection.

SY cables have a transparent sheath and the class 5 flexible annealed plain copper conductors are insulated by PVC.

Other names for the SY Cable include; SY Control Cable, SY Flex Cable, Shielded Flex and Steel Wire Braided Cable.

CY Cables

CY cables are instrumentation cables, like the SY and YY cables. They are used to interconnect for the purpose of measuring, controlling and regulating in control equipment for production and assembly lines, as well as conveyor systems and computer units. The CY cables are used in environments when interference-free transmission is required.

CY cables are multi-core flex, tinned copper wired braided and have a PETP separator. All of these elements of the component work together, to help protect the cable from external electromagnetic influences and mechanical stress.

CY cables are most suited to both fixed installations and flexible use when temporarily moved around. These cables increase their range of different uses for a range of surroundings as they can work both outdoors and in doors when protected and operate effectively in both dry and moist places. A CY cable has a high durability capability when used in conditions under medium mechanical stress.

The cables are covered in a grey PVC sheath with stranded class 5 copper conductors and the cable insulation is also made out of PVC.

Other names for the CY Cable include; CY Control Cable, Screened Flexible Cable and EMC Cable.

Industrial Hoses

Strong and very flexible, Industrial hoses are used to transfer fluid and are made to withstand rigorous use. Industrial hoses are made from a range of materials, like PVC, rubber, composite hose and hydraulic.

Industrial hoses are joined together by connectors, or ‘couplings’. These hose couplings are positioned at the end of a hose and used to connect one hose to another, or to a hose appliance.

Industrial hoses are used in various industries, including power generation, chemical, food processing, paper and petrochemical industries.

Hose Couplings

Couplings are used to connect hoses together, or to appliances. There are many different types of connectors, including Bellow, Bin Activator Seal, and Flexible Fabric connectors. Couplings are used in a variety of different applications, like air, steam and water fittings, petrochemical, chemical, hygienic and pharmaceutical.

Bellow Connectors

Used to accommodate material in steel piping systems where there is lateral, axial or angular movement between pipes. Bellow Connectors are used where stainless steel hoses are not suitable for this kind of coupling.

Bin Activator Seal Connectors

A Bin Activator Seal Connector is used to connect powder hopper/bins to a bin activator that vibrates in order to stimulate powder flow. The vibration requires a flexible connection to remove powder loss. Through experience it has shown that these seals reduce stress to the hopper which increases its life span.

Flexible Fabric Connectors

Different industries can require different types of  hose connectors; often made from different materials for bespoke applications.

Hydrostatic Hose Testing

Testing industrial hoses is extremely important and thus done on a regular basis. A small leak in a hose can not only have a negative effect on productivity but also be hazardous to personal heath and the environment.

Hydrostatic testing will remove any threats and allow manageable maintenance to be carried out; maximizing production.

Cable Harnessing

Cable Harnessing also known as cable harness, cable harnesses, cable assembly and cable looms is a group of cables that transmit operating currents or informational signals. Cable harnessing is tied together by cable ties, clamps or conduit.

Cables harnessing is commonly used in automobiles but it is also used in construction machinery and aircrafts. Some of these wires are extremely long and if stretched out could stretch over many kilometres if fully extended. Binding the wires together helps secure them against adverse effects of vibrations, abrasions and moisture. Constricting the wires also helps optimise use of space and the risk of a short is reduced.

Cabling harnessing is normally designed to accurate bespoke electrical requirements.
